Beauty Secrets #2: Attitude, part 2

Here is the second part of first chapter in the book World's Best Kept Beauty Secrets by Diane Irons. Like I said in the first part I really like this book and I thought I would share the tips inside the book with you. Enjoy :)

1. Don’t act or dress your age. How do you begin your own ‘’timeless’’ appearance? Pick up a magazine that might be geared to a different age demographic. Shop at a different store or department than you usually do.

2. Start a journal. Keep your daily activities and thoughts as a reliable thermometer to your current state of thinking. Use it to keep track of what you’re eating, wearing, and feeling.

3. Find your energy level. Don’t rely on the time of day to tell you when to eat, when to rest, etc. Let your body do the talking!

4. Set goals. It could be as small as ‘’I will lose five pounds by the end of the month’’ or ‘’I will devote one hour a day just for me.’’ Sit back, close your eyes, and visualize yourself as slimmer, happier, or more assertive.  Beauty begins with self-acceptance. Look in the mirror, smile, and say ‘’hi!’’

5. No-Brainer. Have one or two outfits that you know make you look terrific and require no thought.

6. Keep no more than five cosmetics that can make you look fabulous and don’t have to be color coordinated. Keep one overcoat that will make you look stylish.

7. Keep moving. Don’t stay frozen in time. Keep a look that is absolutely your style, but keep reinventing that look to keep up with the times.

8. Learn to forgive. Get back to self-acceptance. Let it go! Learn to forgive others. Throw it away, and get on with your life today!

9. Meditation is a beauty ritual.  It can be perfectly relaxing and enjoyable way to start the day.

10. I double dare you. Whether it’s just getting a manicure or changing your hair color, just a little something new or different can create a brand-new mind-set.

11. Self-portrait. Drawings are our subconscious speaking to us. Take a pencil or crayon, and draw a picture of yourself. Ask yourself what your drawing says about you. Did you take up a whole page? Are you in the corner? Are any of your body parts missing? Are you wearing clothes? What kind of clothes are you wearing? Are you wearing shoes? Are any of your body parts out of proportion? What would you name your drawing? The most evidential self-portrait results were the ones done by teenagers and homemakers reentering the workplace. They were most likely to draw themselves without body parts, grotesque bodies, or as being practically invisible, taking up only a small corner of the page.

Review: Balea Young Soft & Clear Anti-Pickel Patches

Today I'm going to review a product by Balea. It is their Anti-Pickel Patches product. Basically, this product is meant for your pimples. Balea is a German brand ans so all the instructions are in German so I cannot tell you what it says since I don't speak German. If there are any Germans reading this, please tell me what it says on the packaging.

Here are some photos of the product and what comes in it.

As you can see you get 36 patches. You just pull off one patch, put it on your pimple, leave it for few hours (best over night) and voila your pimple is  gone. I love this product and it has been my staple for years. I do have to be honest and say that sometimes you have to repeat the process two times for the pimple to completely dissapear. I do have to say this works ONLY with white pimples not red ones. It costs a little bit over 2€ and I got it in Dm.

I'm going to show you how it works on a pimple I had few days ago. BEWARE OF GROSS PIMPLE PHOTOS.

I left it on over night, this is what I always do and in the morning my pimple was gone. I also have to say that it did return in the afternoon so I had to repeat the process again but after that my pimple si forever gone.

Overall, I love this product. It works great and for the price you cannot go wrong.

What do you think of it? Have you tried it already?

How to love your body

1. It is your treasure. Your body conquers all obstacles, parties, happiness, sadness, etc. It's your frame and you have to take care of it and nurture it. It is your treasure. You shouldn' be ashamed of it and only see imperfections. It's even worse if you say taht your body is ugly. If you don't like it change it.

2. Respect your body. Everybody would like to change something about their body. It is important that you love yourself and your body. You're unique and there is noone like you. Isn't this something special? Don't have a bad attitude towards your body.

3. Nurture your body. Care means having clean skin, oral and other hygiene, nice nails on your hands and feet, skincare, haircare, using a deodorant. Don't forget about all of this and make it a habit. This is the only way you will be nice and polished. You can also make your body look better with exercise, eating well, put on some makeup, if you want to, put on a little bit of perfume. Also don't forget to sleep a least 8 hours a day.

4. Sculpt your body. You can sculpt any body you want. You can do so by exercising regularly and eating healthy. If you sculpt your body and you are happy with it, you'll be more confident and this will show to other people.

5. Shine from the inside. Beauty comes from the inside but it shows on the outside. Your body is a mirror with which you represent mainly your inner beauty. Everything you feel, think, shows on your body. Try to be happy every day and this will make you even more beautiful than you already are.

6. Show it. Why wouldn't you show your body if you're happy with it? Why would you show it? Because you have accepted it the way it is. Because you love it, you take care of it, you nurture it, respect it and know who is worth of it. Show it with all your confidence, optimism, satisfaction, etc.  You have to be happy with yourself first and then other people will like you as well.

7. Spoil it. Have a relaxing bath, massage your feet, polish your nails, put on some perfume, etc.

Favourite book: Vampire Academy

My favorite book series of all time is Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. There are six books in the series:

The series are about Rose and Lisa. Lisa is a moroi and she is the last in Dragomir line. Morois are typically royals, vampires and they have guardians who are dhampires. Dhampires are half human half vampire and Rose is a dhampire. Rose and Lisa have a special bound where Rose can see everything Lisa sees. She is able to do this because Lisa saved Rose from death with her spirit. In the first book Lisa and Rose escape the St. Vladimir academy and Dimitri is sent to bring them back. Dimitri is also a dhampir and is supposed to be Lisa's guardian as well. Rose and Dimitri fall in love eventually and there are a lot of complications going on throughout the series mainly because of strigois. Strigois are vampires, they are dead and very evil. I really recommend the series. It is a little bit complicated at first to understand everything but it is wort reading.

Have you already read it and what do you think about it?

Beauty secrets #1: Attitude, part 1

A while ago I read the book called World's Best Kept Beauty Secrets by Diane Irons and I liked it so much I decided to write series about it. The book talkes about beauty secrets from actresses, models and other successful women.  I will tell you all the tips that are in the book and I hope you'll enjoy them :)

First chapter in the book is Attitude and this are the main points from this chapter.

  1. You are what you project!
  2. Make the time for yourself.
  3. Keep it simple.
  4. Stand up straight. Stand against a wall with head, shoulder blades, and heels touching, and buttocks pushed into the wall. Walk away without changing this position. Also adjust those droopy bra straps.
  5. Be the star of your own show. You should be what people notice. If you like to wear something wear it often and show it to other people.
  6. Make an effort. Become your own canvas, and recreate yourself.
  7. Have it your way. If you have great legs, show them. If you have a lovely waist, show it. Play up your good features, and hide away those ‘’less-than-perfect’’ areas.
  8. Learn to trust your mirror. Real ‘’beauties’’ rely on their mirror and accept everything they see.
  9. Do not be so modest. Wallflowers belong only on walls!

Quotes #4

Review: Babylove Sanftes Pflegeöl

First of all I want to tell that in the future posts I am going to give you some tips that I found in a book called World's best kept beauty secrets by Diane Irons. I really like this book and I thought I would share tips from it.

The first tip I found is that instead of a makeup remover you can use olive oil or baby oil. When it comes to makeup removers my main wish is that they remove not only my face makeup but also my eye-makeup. In the past, I found that a lot of makeup removers do not remove your eye makeup well, especially mascara and sometimes they do not even remove all of your face makeup. I was running out of my Neutrogena Oil-free Makeup remover which I really liked so I needed something else and it costs over 5€. I went into the drugstore and I was deciding between this Babylove baby oil or Johnsons one. I chose Babylove one just because it was a little bit cheaper. I think it was a little bit over 1€.

I will put the picture of my bottle but I forgot my camera at my parents house so you will have to wait a couple of days for more detailed photos.

I have been using it for a few weeks now and I really like it. I am not a fan of the smell but it does not bother me so much. It is very greasy because it is a baby oil. It leaves your hands and your face a little bit greasy. I do not mind it since I use it only at night so I do not care if my face is a little bit greasy at night. As far as makeup removing goes it is wonderful. It removes all of my makeup after just one time. Sometimes I use it two times just to make sure that my face is really clean but honestly once is enough. It also removes mascara which is the main thing for me. I do not know how it removes eyeshadow since I have not been wearing any eyeshadow since I got it and I could not test it out with eyeshadow on. I think if it removes mascara it should remove eyeshadow as well. I also do not know if it would remove waterproof mascara since I do not use waterproof mascara.

Overall I really like using baby oil instead of an actual makeup remover. It does the same job for me and it costs a lot less. I would give it 5 stars.

What do you think about using baby oil instead of a makeup remover?

xoxo K.
